No Constitutional Covention Please

Filed under: Citizenship, Education — Donna at 6:50 pm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009

A constitutional convention is the way some feel they can hold their representative’s feet to the proverbial fire. A constitutional convention is just what the enemies of the constitution want. They are betting that we are dumb enough to demand one, and they are pretty sure we are dumb enough to be manipulated by rhetoric into transforming the constitution into what they want and believe it is our idea, after all that is exactly what political facilitators are trained to do. I remember all too well the community meetings of the goals 2000. Trained facilitators came in and led group discussions to come up with the same conclusions in each state. Some were so close they were almost verbatim. We have a elected officials whom have taken an oath to defend the constitution, for many is is a document they have never studied. No wonder they violate it. Others are trained facilitators, trained in manipulating groups into arriving at a consensus that they think means one thing but actually means another.

The way we hold their feet to the fire is to get educated, then get actively involved in the process, from before the caucuses, selecting and supporting good candidates, through the election and during their term in office.

Actually, if we want to see powerful changes for the better we need to become familiar with the kind of government that our forefathers created, why they chose to do it this way, what they were protecting us from. We have to grow up and in many ways, we need to repent as a people from our covetousness.

Left Wing, Right Wing- What is America’s True Form of Government?

What is America\'s True Form of Government?

We really need to be clear on the kind of government our founders gave us. The left wing/right wing government positions had nothing to do with America and dealt primarily with the French government. The right supporting the conservation of the Monarchy and the Left supporting the republic.

Our government was set up to be a republic and was specifically designed to protect us from the excesses and the power control of monarchies and oligarchies. I love the way this video shows where the role of the Constitution of the United States is.

The opposite of Oligarchy which is rule by an elite few (which includes all socialist, communist, and fascist governments) is anarchy, not the US Constitution. Anarchy is often a temporary state of affairs and is used as a lever by those who want to establish an oligarchy to cause upheaval and then offer themselves as the solution. Sounds like what happens when the mob sells protection and roughs up the clients so they will buy the protection. It also sound like the bad guys taking over Dodge and all the people allow it. Then someone convinces them that there are more towns people than there are bad guys. Then they drive the bad guys out of Dodge.

The US Constitution was designed to protect us from the abuses that can come when people have power given them. These abuses are the result of human nature untempered. So, the constitution is at the center, not the right.

Johnny Appleseed Day

Johnny Appleseed was a real person, John Chapman. He was born 26 September 1774, in Massachusetts and died on 18 February 1845, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the town of my birth. He has always been my favorite folk hero. He was a friend to the native American and the colonists, as well. He planted apple trees! I love apples, Jonathan’s especially. He was a Swedenborgian and was a missionary sharing his faith.

Charity and Entitlement

“And it came to pass on the other hand, that the Nephites did build them up and support them, beginning at the more wicked part of them, until they had overspread all the land of the Nephites, and had seduced the more part of the righteous until they had come down to believe in their works and partake of their spoils, and to join with them in their secret murders and combinations. ” Helaman 6:38

Interesting, these people partook of “legalized plunder.” When righteous people are seduced to partake of the spoils, they have become covetous of what rightfully belonged to others. Yes, covetous, which is evil. Yes, they covet what others had given a portion of their life to earn. Spoils are what the victor takes from the conquered. Is this where America has gotten today, a place where work ethic has died, where we believe we are entitled, by right to the fruits of another man’s labor?

On the other hand, when God prospers His people whether in goods, knowledge, talents, or skills, He expects them to use that blessing to bless others. This is voluntary and we will be accountable to God and those we should have assisted. Even so, it is not the place of government to make sure this happens. That which is required at the threat of prison is not a charitable act, and is not of free will. I believe that those behind the promotion of government as a tool of Christian Charity are disingenuous at best, and out right outlaws at the worst. They are leeches that bleed society. They take, they pay themselves well, and give but a small portion to the poor. They give fish, rather than teaching how to fish, and build up dependents, without which they would not be able to publicly justify their position. This is no more than a kept prisoner receives.

True Christian charity not only binds up the wounds, but helps to heal, and frees the person. Charity is not an act of conscience, or even a duty, so much as it is and act of love. In fact, charity means love, the kind of love where one is willing to sacrifice their life for another, as Christ did for us. That is exactly what we do when we freely give of that which we spent our life’s portion to earn, and do so from the heart. Our time here on earth is our life. Whether direct time, talents, skills, or earthly goods, these are what we have given our life to develop. When we give willingly and as moved upon and help others be free, we are being charitable. We cannot allow ourselves to be guilted into a corner, or believe the falsehood that it is the responsibility of someone else, or even the responsibility of government.

It is our responsibility to care in a way that heals and gives wings of freedom to those we think we are helping.

A New Donna’s Journey- Gateway to My World

Filed under: Blogging — Donna at 8:44 am on Tuesday, September 15, 2009

While this site was down I created a new blog, called Mahalo, Donna over at blogger.

Blogger has a larger capacity for pictures, etc. over there than I presently have over here on the server I am using. I consolidated my blogs in the sidebar. I see the blogger blog as a gateway blog to my other blogs and websites. Most of my blogs are very low volume, but at least when I post to them now, I will note it in the main gateway blog I set up at blogger. I have not added color and a banner, but those modifications will come.

I am Back!

My site has been offline due to an attack of my wordpress site. The issues are fixed and google removed their warning. I will continue using this site, and speaking my mind and sharing my journey. This is the second attack this year, last time it was my school site that this blog is attached to. This time the attack was on my blog.

The attack came when I was traveling across country and not blogging, 9 September. I did not discover the situation until Sunday.

Nutritional Science or What?

Filed under: Health — Donna at 7:57 am on Tuesday, September 1, 2009

Would you trust a nutritionist who was morbidly obese, at least 200 lbs over weight?

That is exactly what happened to a friend of mine. She failed the controversial four hour fasting glucose test. Of course, with all that blood they drew and all the time she was in the office, they never bothered to check her B vitamin levels, nor did they do a diet survey. In short, she failed the test, but they did not know or address the cause. So, they sent her to a diabetic clinic. The dietician was about 200 lbs overweight and nursing a super sized coke.

Then, without a food diary log or nutritional analysis the dietician proceeded to tell a gestational diabetic how to eat.
No more than 2 oz of protein a meal.
Avoid all fresh fruits, but canned fruit in no sugar is better.
No to most veggies except Romaine and one other.
No caloric liquids including milk.
Anything with aspartame and splenda was fine.
When asked about brown rice, she responded to avoid all rice. Brown rice has been known as a diabetic’s friend.
When asked about white or wheat bread, she told them what ever your preference, it does not matter.
Where did this dietician receive her training?

My friend was trained as a nurse, has been an ER nurse, but was not trained in nutrition. However, she had red flags going up all over the place.

My friend came home and searched the internet and found a study in the British Medical journal where they supplemented the women with 100 mg B6 a day for 2 weeks, 85% of the women no longer had gestational diabetes, for the rest of their pregnancy. B6 does help with glucose tolerance. This makes sense since during war time when grains were not refined, maternal diabetes almost completely disappeared. Grains are high in B vitamins.

So my friend opted for B6 and immediately her blood sugar dropped to 79, which is low. After a few days of her blood sugar not rising from food, she did an experiment. She ate two tablespoons of frosting. She said she had to gag it down. Seriously it cannot be any worse than the sugar solution they had her drink! Her blood sugar was 84, still low.

By reading about the study applying wisdom, she was able to bring her blood sugar under control withing 8 hours!

B6 also helps magnesium. Magnesium performs over 350 different metabolic processes, including carbohydrate metabolism. The average American gets less than 1/2 the dietary magnesium as their bodies need. When women are pregnant their need for magnesium nearly doubles. Of course, whole grains are a great source of both. When we refine grains we lose these needed nutrients. No wonder we are seeing more women with gestational diabetes.

A few weeks before this incident, my friend went to the nurse midwives and they said her blood pressure was twice what it should be and that the ultrasound showed she had a kidney that was enlarged and with very little blood supply. Onset of toxemia and a kidney infection! What did they do for her? They told her to avoid salt and did zero for the kidney. Her kidneys were not processing fluids. She came home and I showed her about Dr. Thomas Brewer’s work. We have known for over 30 years what causes most toxemia and it is usually preventable through diet.

She chose to eat some salty food, got some quality protein and dropped her blood pressure to normal that night. She also drank pomegranate/cranberry juice. Her kidneys began functioning within hours.

So, I ask where are the dieticians that promote a healthy diet for pregnant women, one that provides the nutrients mom and baby need? Yes. Unfortunately, it is not standard practice to give this information. 75,000 women die worldwide, every year from Toxemia.

Here is a link to information about what we know about Toxemia and Dr. Thomas Brewer’s successful Blue Ribbon Baby diet.

I feel it is unconscionable to know what we know and not be helping pregnant women know the why and how to prevent these insidious problems.
